A split tape from English Dark Folk act Wapentake and Edinburgh based Ambient act Deepslumber. Those familiar with the album works of Suffolk’s Wapentake will note the more experimental nature of the two tracks on offer here, somewhat more akin to the demo recordings; utilising field recordings, keyboard/synth passages, hypnotic melodic phrasing repetitions and a drawn out, slower atmosphere. Deepslumber, the project of the label boss of Ancient Entity Records, takes a more psychedelic route to their musical expression; heavy with delay and melodic inter-sectionalism weaving a bed of drone like ambience akin to the unsteady flow of a river in autumn. This limited cassette edition comes with pro-printed double sided glossy covers in standard library case.
